Great question Eric Hoke! Decision fatigue is real. Everyone expecting you, the leader or manager to make all the decisions. As they pile up it can be overwhelming. How to limit the number of decisions: (1) Make sure you are making calls on those decisions you that most important — right now. Make al list of the decisions and then rewrite them in priority order. Once the ordered list is complete. Ask yourself, which decisions move us forward the most right now? | (2) Get your team to help with the decisions. If you are the CEO, you don’t need to make every decision. In fact, the person most qualified and closest to the issue at hand needs to do. Your job is to bring the matter to discussion, facilitate, and where required break ties. Because no decision is also a killer. | (3) Slow down. One of the biggest causes of bad decisions or mistakes is thinking we should bias to action rather than bias to thought. Take the time to think about each (important) decisions before making the call. Of course, don’t take too long! ) — I hope this helps.
